General instructions and information
Prior to your admission to an indicated (following an indicated examination by a CDR physician) and planned hospitalization at the RNB Mental Rehabilitation Center, you will be contacted by the front desk staff to provide you with a specific date and time for your admission.
On the day of admission, you will report to the reception desk in the atrium at the designated time. The reception staff will direct you to the ward where you will be admitted. Upon arrival, you will be met by the nursing staff who will brief you on the ward, its programme and rules. You will be accommodated in single or double rooms, which have private bathroom facilities.
During your treatment, experienced staff are always available to answer any questions and try to resolve any problems. Your comfort and sense of security is our top priority.

What to bring
- ID card or other proof of identity (passport)
- Health insurance card
- a referral for hospitalisation and the results of previous examinations
- Sickness certificate (if you have one)
- personal belongings:
- comfortable day clothes
- sportswear
- pyjamas (nightwear)
- bathrobe
- slippers (non-slip, comfortable, without heels)
- personal hygiene items
- towel
- Medication: during the stay in the CDR, a schedule of all medications to be taken is drawn up by the attending physician and administered by the nurse. If you are taking certain medications to treat a specific condition, take them with you to the hospital. When you arrive at the ward, hand over all the medicines and food supplements you have with you to the nurse. The attending doctor will include them among the medicines you will be given during your stay in hospital. Do not take any other medicines or supplements during your hospital stay without the doctor's knowledge. You will receive your medication from the nurses in the exact dose and at the exact time.
It is not advisable to bring large amounts of money and valuables to the hospital. It is forbidden to carry weapons and addictive substances.
Some toiletries may be purchased in the cafeteria in the CDR atrium.
What documents will you be signing
Consent for hospitalization
As part of your admission, you must sign a consent for hospitalization form. You will be commenting on the circumstances of the stay (e.g. information to loved ones, identification bracelet, etc.). You can view the form here.
How to reach us
The Mental Rehabilitation Center is part of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital, you will find it in Building S at the back of the campus, on your left. The receptionist at the entrance to the hospital will be happy to help you.
The hospital can be found at Prof. Veselého 493, 266 56 Beroun 1.
By car
The hospital is easy to reach by car, it is on Prof. Veselý Street and is easily visible from afar.
There is a spacious outdoor car park on the right hand side in front of the entrance to the premises. Parking on the hospital premises is only available to holders of ZTP and ZTP/P cards.
By public transport
Right next to the hospital you will find the Beroun public transport stop Profesora Veselý. Bus line 825 stops there.
For intercity buses, we recommend using the U Slavaše bus stop, from which it takes about twenty minutes on foot to reach the hospital.
If you take the train, it takes about half an hour on foot from the Beroun train station to the hospital. Some trains also stop at the Beroun-Závodí station, which is closer to the hospital (about a twenty-minute walk).
On foot
Although the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital is located on the outskirts of the city, you can easily reach it on foot. It shouldn't take you more than half an hour to walk from the centre of Beroun.
Parking
Directly below the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun there is a parking lot with a parking meter and a capacity of 268 parking spaces:
- parking within 60 minutes is free of charge
- each additional half hour is charged at 30 CZK/30 min.
After paying the parking fee, leave the car park within 30 minutes.
Parking for hospitalized patients in the parking lot under the hospital premises:
- 250 CZK/day
- 50 CZK/day for ZTP and ZTP/P holders
- From 22:00 to 6:00 - 3 hours free of charge
Parking in the hospital area is not allowed!
The only exception is for ZTP and ZTP/P card holders, who can park free of charge on the hospital grounds for 4 hours in designated spaces. However, their vehicle must have a special marking No. 07 and they must present their personal disability card at the concierge desk Parking on the hospital premises for longer than 30 minutes is charged at CZK 60 per 30 minutes for each additional half hour.
Loss of a parking ticket is charged at CZK 3,000.
Visiting rules
Patients can receive unlimited visits, but always taking into account their health condition, ward regime and programme and co-patients. Visits to patients' rooms are not appropriate.
The recommended visiting hours vary from ward to ward depending on the specifics of the therapeutic programme underway.
Visits must respect the running of the ward and staff regulations. It is also forbidden to bring prohibited items such as sharp objects, weapons or addictive substances into the CDR.
Café
In your free time, you can also use the café, located in the atrium of the CDR. In addition to coffee, tea, pastries and deli items, you can also buy some basic groceries or basic toiletries there. The café is also open to the public, making it an ideal place to meet people who have come to visit you.
Payments at the café can be made in cash or by credit card.
Patient rights and responsibilities
Patients have the right to:
- To have all health services provided only on the basis of their free and informed consent. Exceptions to this rule can only be made by law.
- to choose their health care provider. This does not apply when the provision of emergency care is involved.
- refuse to consent to the provision of health services unless they are services that can be provided without consent.
- to be provided with health services at the appropriate professional level, i.e. according to the rules of science and recognised medical practices, respecting the individuality of the patient, taking into account the specific conditions and objective possibilities that correspond to the patient's health needs.
- to respect, to be treated with dignity, to be treated with consideration and to respect privacy in the provision of health services in accordance with the nature of the health services provided.
- the right to inspect the medical records kept on him/her, to take extracts, copies.
- to determine the persons who may be informed about his/her health condition or consult the medical records, to take extracts, copies, copies.
- arrange for consultation services from another provider, or from a health professional other than the one providing the health services.
- to be familiar with the internal rules of an inpatient or day care facility.
- if he or she is a minor, to the continuous presence of his or her legal guardian or, where appropriate, a person designated by the legal guardian, a foster parent, or another person in whose care the patient has been committed by order of a court or other authority.
- if he or she is deprived of legal capacity or if his or her legal capacity is so limited that he or she is incapable of assessing the provision of health services or the consequences of their provision, to the continuous presence of his or her legal representative or, where appropriate, a person designated by the legal representative.
- to the presence of a relative or a person designated by him/her, provided that the presence of such persons does not conflict with the internal rules and does not interfere with the provision of health services.
- to be informed in advance of the cost of health services provided which are not covered by public health insurance or which are partially covered by public health insurance and the method of payment.
- to know the name of the health professionals, other professional staff and persons training for the health profession at the Mental Rehabilitation Centre who are directly involved in the provision of health services.
- To refuse the presence of persons who are not directly involved in the provision of health services and persons preparing for the health care profession.
- To receive visitors in an inpatient or day-care facility, taking into account his/her medical condition and in accordance with internal regulations and in a manner that does not violate the rights of other patients.
- to receive spiritual care and spiritual support from clergy of churches and religious societies registered in the Czech Republic, or from persons authorised to carry out clerical activities, in accordance with the internal rules of the Mental Rehabilitation Centre and ward, in a manner that does not infringe the rights of other patients and with regard to his/her state of health.
- if he or she is a minor or a person deprived of legal capacity or whose legal capacity has been restricted, to require that a person whom the patient claims to be a person who abuses or otherwise abuses or neglects him or her not be present during the provision of health services.
- File a complaint in person or in writing. The procedure for filing a complaint can be found on the website at www.nemocnice-beroun.cz; the internet is available to patients 24 hours a day during their hospitalization.
- A patient with a sensory impairment or severe communication problems due to medical reasons has the right to communicate in a way that is understandable to him or her and by means of communication that he or she chooses, including methods based on interpretation by another person.
- A patient with a sensory or physical disability who uses a dog with special training (guide or assistance dog) shall have the right, in view of his/her current state of health, to be accompanied and to have the dog with him/her in the healthcare establishment in the manner laid down in the internal rules so as not to infringe the rights of other patients.
The patient is obliged to:
- comply with the proposed individual treatment procedure if he/she has given his/her consent to the provision of health services.
- comply with the internal rules of the department.
- to reimburse the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun for the cost of health services provided which are not covered by public health insurance or which are partially covered by public health insurance, if these health services were provided with his/her consent.
- truthfully inform the attending physician about the current state of his/her health, including information about infectious diseases, health services provided by other providers, use of medicines, including substance abuse, and other facts relevant to the provision of health services.
- not consume alcohol or other addictive substances during hospitalization and submit to testing to determine whether or not he or she is under the influence of alcohol or other addictive substances, as determined by the attending physician, when warranted.
- The patient, the patient's legal representative, a person designated by the patient, a person close to the patient, a person in the patient's household, another person who intends to visit the hospitalized patient or a person who requests information about the patient's medical condition shall be required to provide identification with an ID card if requested to do so by the Mental Rehabilitation Centre or a health care professional through whom the hospital provides health care services to the patient.
The Mental Rehabilitation Centre respects and supports the right of patients and their relatives to participate in decisions about the healthcare provided.
