We are looking for a music therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Mental Rehabilitation Center in Beroun. Through music, singing, and sound techniques, you will help patients process their emotions, develop communication skills, and support their recovery.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
At the Mental Rehabilitation Center on the grounds of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital.
WHAT THIS POSITION ENTAILS
- Conducting individual and group music therapy sessions for patients with mental illness, with a focus on supporting their mental health and recovery.
- Developing treatment plans tailored to patients’ needs and current condition, using instrument playing, improvisation, singing, music creation, and listening to music.
- Creating a safe environment for emotional expression, encouraging active patient participation, and fostering group collaboration.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and participating in the inpatient ward’s therapeutic program, including community and group activities based on your expertise.
- Maintaining records in the hospital information system.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
- A college degree in music therapy or comprehensive, long-term training in music therapy.
- Psychotherapy training (either ongoing or completed) is a plus.
- Practical musical skills and the ability to use music and sound in therapeutic work.
- Ability to lead a group as well as work individually and adapt one’s approach to patients’ needs.
- An empathetic and respectful approach, adherence to professional ethics, and an awareness of the limits of one’s own competencies.
- Independence, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Center in Beroun is unique not only in the Czech Republic but also in the context of all of Europe.
