About the Programme
The twelve-day residential programme at the Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre is primarily designed to diagnose attention disorders in adults. The aim of the programme is to confirm or rule out the presence of ADHD or other attention disorders, which may manifest as difficulty concentrating, impulsivity or problems with time management. Based on the results of the assessment, treatment may then be initiated; patient education is also part of the programme. All healthcare is fully covered by health insurance. Participants only pay for accommodation in well-appointed single rooms. The cost is 2,100 CZK per day, totalling 25,200 CZK for the stay.
A key strength of the programme is the multidisciplinary team, comprising psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, psychologists, neurologists, addiction specialists, nutritional therapists, sleep specialists, and movement and creative therapists. Thanks to this collaboration, we are able to gain a comprehensive understanding of each patient’s condition and devise a personalised plan for further care.
The programme includes specialist psychological assessments, psychoeducational sessions, group meetings, movement and creative activities, and support in managing the everyday challenges associated with ADHD.
Once a diagnosis has been made and the programme has concluded, patients have the option of enrolling in a follow-up psychotherapy programme for patients with attention deficit disorder, which is offered at CDR approximately once every six months. This programme lasts four weeks, is free of charge, and teaches patients how to continue working with their diagnosis. You can find out more about the psychotherapy programme here.
Programme highlights
Targeted and comprehensive psychological assessment
Every patient undergoes targeted and comprehensive psychodiagnostics – standardised psychological tests, clinical interviews and observations, personality questionnaires and other clinical methods assessing attention and cognitive functions.
Movement assessment
Under the guidance of movement therapists, assessments are carried out to evaluate posture, movement patterns, muscle balance and coordination.
Basic sleep assessment
During an overnight examination, we use a specialised device to measure respiratory activity, heart rate and blood oxygen levels.
Multidisciplinary approach
Diagnoses and recommendations are based on collaboration between specialists from various fields.
Educational sessions
One-hour presentations on topics related to attention disorders take place daily. For example, how attention disorders affect sleep or nutrition, or how they are linked to substance and non-substance addictions.
Community support
Group activities, sharing experiences and guided relaxation sessions promote not only mental wellbeing but also self-awareness.
Physical activities
The programme includes regular physical activities, which contribute to overall balance and recovery.
A modern and stimulating environment
The Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre opened in 2023 and provides a pleasant and peaceful environment with innovative lighting designed to support natural circadian rhythms.
Who is the programme suitable for
- adults with suspected ADHD or another attention deficit disorder who are seeking a clear diagnosis and guidance on further treatment
- adults diagnosed with an attention disorder who are interested in refining their diagnosis, receiving education and establishing a basic medication regimen
- young adults whose ADHD symptoms only became more pronounced in adulthood, or who were not diagnosed as children
- individuals transitioning from paediatric to adult care who require a review, update or refinement of their diagnosis
Before starting the programme, participants undergo a comprehensive assessment consisting of a screening questionnaire and a psychiatric interview. Where indicated, they also undergo an EEG (recording of the brain’s electrical activity) or an MRI scan of the brain.
