Residential care for adolescents
This comprehensive therapeutic program is designed for adolescents ages 14 to 18 with psychiatric disorders for whom outpatient therapy is appropriate. These include anxiety and depressive disorders, sleep disorders, ADHD, and psychological problems related to schooling and adolescence.
It takes the form of group psychotherapy and provides opportunities to meet with peers who have similar psychological problems. In addition to group therapy, it includes individual therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, relaxation and other supportive activities such as sports, social games or other creative activities.
The residential programme lasts for 12 weeks, with patients coming to the residential centre 3 times a week for blocks lasting from 9am to 1pm. Those interested can use the option of ordering lunch and a ride from the centre of Beroun to the hospital.
Who is the inpatient unit suitable for?
Indications suitable for admission to the inpatient unit include:
- neurotic disorders (phobias, reactive disorders, somatoform disorders)
- mild and moderate mood disorders without suicidal ideation
- sleep disorders
- hyperkinetic disorders (ADHD)
- eating disorders (BMI over 16)
- resocialisation following treatment for a more severe phase of mental illness
- psychological problems related to schooling and adolescence (difficulties in relationships with parents or peers, difficulties in adhering to a regime)
Conditions and situations that preclude inclusion include, but are not limited to:
- Mental retardation, autism spectrum disorders
- Eating disorder with severe underweight (indicative BMI below 16)
- severe behavioural disorders
- mental illness at a stage requiring hospitalisation
- suicidal ideation and severe self-harm
- alcohol and/or substance abuse, addictive behaviour
- refusal of treatment, refusal of recommended hospitalization, termination of hospitalization by negative reversion or discharge for violation of treatment regimen
- close relationship with another inpatient client (siblings, classmates, partners)
Fractional inpatient treatment for insomnia insomnia
The inpatient unit for patients suffering from insomnia (insomnia) is part of the Sleep Medicine Center operating in the CDR and focuses on patients who have been struggling with insomnia for a long time. As part of its psychotherapeutic programme, the inpatient unit uses elements of KBT therapy and introduces patients to the principles of proper sleep and teaches them appropriate techniques to support the treatment of insomnia.
Each session also includes a physiotherapy component where patients learn relaxation movement techniques under the supervision of an experienced physiotherapist.
The residential programme consists of five sessions held once a week for three hours.
Who is the inpatient unit suitable for:
Patients with chronic insomnia referred by a specialist physician or a physician from the Sleep Medicine Center.
Prior to placement in the inpatient group, you may be screened in the insomnia treatment clinic at CDR.
The treatment group for patients after transition to the home environment
The Recovery Group is for clients who have successfully completed an inpatient admission and are seeking support during the challenging period following treatment. The main aim of the group is to create a safe environment to share experiences, difficulties and successes associated with the transition to normal life after hospitalisation. As part of the aftercare process, clients address setting a healthy daily routine, work engagement and social issues, relationships with others, and other topics related to mental health and life after treatment. The standard length of the aftercare programme is three months.
Who is the group suitable for?
Only clients who have previously been admitted to the acute wards of the Mental Health Rehabilitation Center are eligible to enroll in the group.
