Two hundred future nurses and physicians came from Pilsen, Pribram, Kladno, Prague and Beroun. The programme prepared by experts at the Mental Rehabilitation Centre combined theoretical lectures, practical demonstrations and an introduction to the functioning of the Mental Rehabilitation Centre. The students also had the opportunity to ask the Beroun physicians and nurses about everything they were interested in in connection with medical and nursing practice.
In the afternoon, the participants had not only a tour of the building of the Mental Rehabilitation Centre, but also practical workshops. These focused on simulating the operation of the Centre, de-escalation techniques used for acute patient conditions, incorporating movement therapies into psychiatric treatment, neurostimulation, or developing treatment plans for specific patients. At the end of the day there was a raffle in which participants could win valuable prizes.
But it wasn't all about psychiatric care during the event. The AKESO medical holding of the owner Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis also includes other facilities, which were also presented during the opening lecture session. Whether it was the other departments of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun, of which the Mental Rehabilitation Centre is a part, the Hospital Hořovice, the AKESO POLICLINIC in Nové Butovice, Prague, the Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre in Pardubice or the Senimed pharmacy network, each of the participants was able to pick up information about the specialty that interests them the most.
In addition, the event attracted a rare visitor. AKESO DAYS was visited by Mgr. Josef Flek, Chairman of the Defence Committee and member of the Health Committee, and MP Bc. Anežka Nedomová, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the European Affairs Committee.
"This is the second time we went to the AKESO Day with students and once again we really liked the organization of the event. The motivation and interest of our students was already noticeable during the morning lectures. They were very interested in the presentation of the Director of Health Projects and Development of AKESO Holding Mgr. Irini Szentiványi, who presented the entire holding, its vision and the wide range of care provided. She spoke very engagingly about the company culture, support for employees, their families and the provision of childcare in the adjacent kindergarten. We also very much appreciate the fact that we could talk to the owner of the entire holding Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis," praised the experience of Mgr. Martina Lísková from the Secondary Medical School in Pilsen was very pleased with the experience.
Thank you to everyone who came to our event and we look forward to next year again.
