The two-day meeting is intended primarily for professionals - psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and other mental health professionals. However, interested members of the general public are also welcome.
"The CDR Fall Symposium will again focus on capturing interesting psychiatric topics from a variety of perspectives. This is because we believe that it is the multidisciplinary approach and its cultivation that is key in mental health care. It can counterbalance possible professional 'blind spots'," invites MUDr. Martin Hollý, MBA, CDR Deputy for Mental Health, to the event.
The programme will be divided into four main blocks:
- The first block, entitled Spirituality and Mental Health, will focus on the connection between faith and psychotherapy. In addition to experts from CDR, the Bishop of Pilsen, Mons. ThLic. Tomáš Holub, Th.D., who will offer a perspective on the dialogue between faith and therapy.
- Friday's program will then conclude with a thematic session on ADHD in the current clinical and social context. This spring, CDR launched a specialized program for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD and other attention disorders. The lectures will therefore provide not only a perspective on the issue from the perspective of modern psychiatry and psychodiagnostics, but also specific experiences from this program and follow-up research.
- The day will conclude with a panel discussion focusing specifically on attention disorders. Guests will include singer Adam Misik, who will share his personal experience with this diagnosis. The evening accompanying programme will feature his concert.
- Saturday morning will be marked by the block Sleep Medicine in Psychiatry. Sleep is one of the key areas that CDR has long been involved in. In the summer, a new Sleep Medicine Centre was opened here, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of the most common sleep disorders.
- The last part of the symposium will be devoted to the topic Reflection of Creativity in Mental Illness. Speakers will show how art therapy, music therapy, theatre therapy and other creative approaches can help patients in the process of treatment and rehabilitation.
The programme will also include a presentation of the Ondřejov Day Psychotherapy Sanatorium and Mindwell digital psychotherapy programmes, which are part of Sotirios Zavalianis' AKESO healthcare holding.
Participants can also enjoy a guided tour of the Mental Rehabilitation Centre building, which celebrated 2 years since its opening this June.
Registration is now open on the CDR website, where all practical information is also available.
