In the Czech Best Managed Companies programme, which is backed by the international company Deloitte, the healthcare holding AKESO defended the prestigious award of the best managed company in the Czech Republic. The title has been awarded for the fourth time in a row, which proves that the group still maintains the highest level and continues its development.

A record 29 Czech companies were awarded at the ceremony this year. The Czech Best Managed Companies programme promotes business development and at the same time recognises leading privately owned and managed companies. Its aim is to create a global platform that promotes international cooperation and the sharing of experiences of these companies. The programme was established in Canada in 1993 and represents the most important business award of its kind.

"We see our involvement in this project as a mirror set to our management processes and our organizational culture. The perspective of an erudite third party is an interesting lesson and feedback for us. Despite the complications caused by the increase in operating and investment costs, we have been able to deliver on most of our innovation projects. Recommendations in the area of corporate culture and strategic planning are very valuable to us and fulfil the purpose of adding value from working with a reputable third party. For the coming year, we plan to continue working diligently, improving processes and settings so that we can defend the award in the years to come," says Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis, owner of the AKESO medical holding, which includes, among others, the Hořovice Hospital, the Diagnostic Centre in Prague, the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital, the Mental Rehabilitation Centre and the Multiscan Oncology and Radiology Centre in Pardubice.

Companies in the Czech Best Managed Companies programme undergo a multi-stage evaluation and are judged by an independent jury of seven experts. Companies must meet the required level in four main pillars - strategy, productivity and innovation, management and financial performance and corporate culture.

"The growing number of Czech-owned companies that successfully pass the programme and win or re-win the award for well-adjusted management is proof that the private company segment in the Czech Republic is in good shape. Even though the last three years have not been easy for them, they have managed to cope with broken supply chains, fluctuations in energy prices and rising interest and labour costs," says Miroslav Svoboda, country leader of Deloitte ČR and leader of the Czech Best Managed Companies programme.
