The tour was organized in cooperation with Prof. Kamila Řasová, PhD, PhD, the guarantor of the field of physiotherapy at the Prague faculty. She visited our hospital with her students and colleagues as well as with guests from the Finnish Savonia University of Applied Sciences and the Greek University of Thessaly. They all visited the Rehabilitation Centre of Jan Calta, MD and the Mental Rehabilitation Centre. This side programme was then followed by an international conference on neurorehabilitation, which the guests also attended, at which representatives of all three universities presented their topics.
The visitors were given the opportunity to learn about the functioning and operation of the various facilities of our rehabilitation centre. For example, in the Occupational Therapy Department, Kristýna Hoidekrová, PhD, occupational therapist, methodologist and coordinator for rehabilitation, science and research, explained the principles of robotic systems used in the treatment of neurological patients. The students had a unique opportunity to actively experience how to work with these systems.
The second part of the tour was directed to the Centre for Mental Rehabilitation (CDR), where the guests were welcomed by the head of the centre , Pavel Doubek, M.D., Ph.D., who prepared a lecture with case studies on the concept of modern lighting in the CDR, which works in circadian rhythm mode throughout the building. And also about the unique phototherapy room, which won a great response from the visitors. All the students also got a glimpse of other therapy rooms such as music therapy, culinary therapy, and the stationary room, and visited the swimming pool and sauna.
Among the guests was Vasilis Lioliopoulos, a physiotherapy student from the University of Thessaly. From his impressions, he revealed that he felt at home in the environment of our hospital due to the close connection with Greece. "I really liked the wide range of treatment and rehabilitation options you provide here. And not just for patients with physiotherapy needs, but also for those seeking help with mental health treatment. Knowing that the owner of the hospital, Mr. Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis, is from the same country as me, instills in me a sense of pride and also motivates me to continue to work on myself.Iwill definitely want to learn more about him now," said the young man.
