How are sleep problems treated in modern times? The Sleep Medicine Centre introduced itself to experts from Beroun and the surrounding area

GPs, internists and other experts met at the end of September at the Centre for Mental Rehabilitation (CDR) in Beroun, where they visited the newly opened Sleep Medicine Centre. There they got acquainted with the functioning of this specialised workplace, which stands out in particular for its overlap with psychiatry. The aim is to establish interdisciplinary contacts and to present the possibilities of cooperation within the framework of treatment.

The Sleep Medicine Center focuses on treating the most common sleep-related problems. In addition, it offers EEG measurements, polysomnography and polygraphy. Patients undergo measurements at night and sleep directly in the CDR, where they receive the utmost comfort and support.

The Sleep Medicine Centre is a newly opened department within the CDR that deals with the treatment of the most common sleep-related problems. The main areas treated at the Sleep Medicine Centre are sleep apnoea, insomnia and unusual sleep movements.

Additionally, the CDR's location in the hospital offers close collaboration with psychiatry and provides an interdisciplinary approach to treatment. The result is providing truly comprehensive help to patients who have sleep problems.

Patients can also self-refer to the Sleep Medicine Centre, but they need a referral from their GP or specialist first. You can find an order form on the CDR website.

Lidský přístup a bezpečné prostředí, to je pro pacienty velmi důležité

Byl to zážitek z dětství, který vrchní sestru Centra duševní rehabilitace Mgr. Renatu Heinrichovou inspiroval k odhodlání, že bude v dospělosti vykonávat profesi zdravotní sestry. Přání se jí splnilo a v ošetřovatelství se na různých pozicích pohybuje už 34 let. „Práce sestry je bezesporu náročná. Ale to, co se vám vrátí, vždy stojí za to,“ říká, když hovoří o chvílích, kdy díky péči zdravotníků dojde k záchraně lidského života nebo k výraznému zlepšení zdravotního stavu pacienta.
